Steam Deck LCD Models Now Start at $297 While Supplies Last

Steam Deck

Valve is currently offering 15% discounts on the 64GB and 512GB Steam Deck LCD models, which are being phased out now that the Steam Deck OLED is available. The 64GB LCD model is now available at $297 (previously $349), while the 512GB model dropped to $382 (previously $449).

The discounts will be available through July 11 at 10AM PDT while supplies last. The 256GB Steam Deck LCD is not being discounted ($399) as it’s now the cheapest option next to the 512GB and 1TB OLED models priced at $549 and $649, respectively.

Please note that the Steam Deck LCD with just 64GB of storage uses slower eMMC storage than other models shipping with an NVMe SSD. The 1280×800 LCD display on the model with 64GB of storage also doesn’t feature premium anti-glare etched glass.

The Steam Deck OLED that Valve launched back in November comes with a bigger 7.4” OLED HDR display, a slightly bigger 50 Whr battery and a more power efficient 6nm AMD APU. However, if you’re interested in gaming handhelds, the LCD models remain very good value and Valve will continue to support them with software updates moving forward.

Valve’s Steam Deck really popularized PC gaming handhelds in recent years, and by running Valve’s Linux-based SteamOS with the Proton compatibility layer, the devices don’t come with the annoyances of running Windows on a small 7” screen (It’s still possible to install Windows 10 or Windows 11, however). Valve also has Steam Deck compability program with clear labels on store listings indicating if games should work great on the gaming handheld or not.
