Adobe is Bringing Licensed Music to Premiere Mobile

Adobe is partnering with two of the world’s biggest music publishers to bring their content to Premiere mobile for free.

“We’re working with Universal Music Group (UMG) and Warner Music Group (WMG) to bring fully licensed music clips from leading artists directly into Adobe Premiere mobile,” Adobe’s Mike Polner writes. “By combining music from two of the world’s leading music companies with Premiere mobile’s pro-level video editing tools, we’re making it easier for you to discover the tracks you love, shape your video around the music, and then share your stories, all in one free app.”

Music from UMG and WMG is coming soon to Premiere mobile, Adobe says, with tracks licensed for personal, non-commercial use. When available, Premiere mobile will provide ways to browse, search, and preview trending music by artist or track with genre and duration filters, bookmark favorites, explorer label-made featured collections, add up to 60 seconds of a track to your video, access customized templates paired with music, and share the results directly to various social media platforms.

“With music from UMG and WMG integrated directly into Premiere mobile, you’ll be able to create videos around the songs that inspire you, right from the first cut,” Polner adds. “Whether you’re jumping on the latest trend or creating something entirely new, you’ll have more ways to bring your creative vision to life. And with popular music as the backdrop for your videos, the partnerships open even more opportunities for artists and songwriters to reach new audiences.”

While it’s not clear when this feature will come to Adobe Premiere mobile, Adobe MAX is next week, so I assume it will happen before then or during the event. In the meantime, you can download Premiere mobile for Android from the Google Play Store and Premier mobile for iPhone and iPad from the Apple App Store. You can also learn more about Premier mobile from the Adobe website.
